The Village of Niles is bringing local art, live music and food trucks to the Niles Village Plaza for a free afternoon festival on Sunday, Oct. 11.

The Last Call Art & Music Fest runs from noon to 5 p.m. at 1000 Civic Center Drive, at the corner of Waukegan Road and Oakton Street. The Village of Niles and its Public Arts & Culture Council are organizing the event, according to the village's event page.

Admission is free and open to all ages.

Visitors can browse artwork, jewelry and handmade goods from local artists and makers set up across the plaza. The village described the festival as a celebration of art, music, food and community at the heart of its Village Hall Plaza, with interactive activities planned for all ages throughout the afternoon.

Food trucks will serve on site, though the village has not announced specific vendors. Children's activities will run alongside the music and shopping.

A DJ will perform throughout the afternoon. A live set from "Chicago's Own Piano Man" closes out the day from 3 to 5 p.m.

The village's Facebook post promoting the festival drew comments from residents asking how to sign up as vendors, a sign of early interest from the local maker community.

The Public Arts & Culture Council, a body under Niles village government, has organized arts programming in the community before. The Oct. 11 festival gives the council a showcase for the area's artists and craftspeople in an outdoor setting before colder weather sets in.

No registration is required for attendees.
