SBA opens disaster loan centers for Cook County storm victims

The SBA has opened two Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Cook County where Park Ridge residents and businesses affected by the July 27 storms can apply for low-interest loans of up to $500,000 for homeowners and $2 million for businesses, with a physical damage deadline of Oct. 19.

Reassessment puts 68% of north suburban tax burden on homeowners

Park Ridge and Niles homeowners now carry 68% of the north suburban tax base after the 2025 Cook County reassessment, but reforms that cut commercial appeal reductions from 20% to 14% kept the burden shift smaller than in 2022; second-installment bills mail Sept. 1 and are due Oct. 1.
