Maine Township schedules 17 nonprofit grant pitches Sept. 22
Maine Township Supervisor Kimberly Jones has called a special agency funding meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 22, where 17 nonprofits will present 2026-27 grant requests to the board, up from 16 last year and scheduled earlier in the fall than in recent cycles.

Supreme Court blocks mail-ballot rule for Park Ridge voters
The U.S. Supreme Court blocked new federal mail-ballot requirements from taking effect before the Nov. 3 election, meaning Park Ridge and Niles voters can vote by mail under existing rules. Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon said the 7-2 ruling gives election officials the certainty they need.
