Park Ridge homeowners can recover missed tax exemptions to 2022
Park Ridge and Niles homeowners can file a Certificate of Error with the Cook County Assessor's Office to recover missed property tax exemptions going back to 2022, with free virtual workshops on Sept. 9–10 and a payment deadline of Oct. 1.

Cook County forest preserve workers end 16-day strike
Teamsters Local 700 members voted Sept. 2 to accept a new contract with the Forest Preserves of Cook County, ending a 16-day strike and sending trail maintenance crews back to work on the Des Plaines River Trail and other preserves used by Park Ridge and Niles residents.

District 64 hosts community coffee at Lincoln Sept. 10
District 64 Superintendent Dr. Ben Collins will hold an open community coffee at Lincoln Middle School on Sept. 10, giving residents a chance to talk informally with the superintendent at a building that underwent emergency fire-code repairs this summer.
