Library board eyes 2.7% property tax levy increase Tuesday
The Park Ridge Public Library Board of Trustees will review a proposed FY27 budget Tuesday that would raise the property tax levy by $117,092, or 2.7%, to $4,453,813, while adding a new half-time outreach coordinator and a 4% merit raise pool for staff.

The Park Ridge Historic Preservation Commission held a public hearing Aug. 5 on a proposed historic district designation for five Spanish Colonial Revival homes in the Spanish Town neighborhood, which would be the city's first-ever historic district and would require owners to get design approval for exterior changes.

North Maine fire board votes Aug. 12 on retirement healthcare, vehicle plan

A new public tool called "Have I Been Flocked" lets Illinois residents check whether their license plates were searched by Flock Safety cameras, as data shows the Cook County Sheriff's Office ran nearly 150,000 ALPR searches since 2023 and Park Ridge continues to grapple with its own contentious Flock contract.
