The Park Ridge City Council approved the city's first-ever historic district designation for five Spanish Colonial Revival homes in the Spanish Town neighborhood and a Verizon Wireless cell tower lease at the Dee Road train station at its Sept. 8 meeting.

The Park Ridge City Council will vote Tuesday, Sept. 8, on whether to approve the Spanish Town Historic District, the city's first-ever historic designation covering five 1927 homes. The Committee of the Whole will also take up traffic calming and pest control.
