Park Ridge native Peter Skoronski signed a four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Tennessee Titans on Aug. 7. The deal makes the Maine South graduate the highest-paid offensive guard in the NFL.

The extension includes $88 million in guaranteed money and pays Skoronski an average of $25 million per season, ESPN reported. The Journal & Topics, citing ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, detailed the contract in a Tuesday, Sept. 8 roundup of area NFL players written by Dion Martorano.

Skoronski was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Northwestern. He is entering his fourth season in Tennessee and has started 48 of a possible 51 games. After missing three games as a rookie, he played all 17 games in each of the past two seasons.

His discipline stands out. In 3,012 career offensive snaps, Skoronski has drawn just six holding flags, two false starts and one offside call.

Skoronski is not the only area product on an NFL roster heading into the 2026 season. Cole Kmet, a St. Viator graduate and Chicago Bears tight end, enters his seventh year with 288 career receptions for 2,939 yards and 21 touchdowns across 100 regular-season games. Kmet ranks second in Bears history among tight ends in receiving yards, trailing only Mike Ditka. He is 61 yards from reaching 3,000 career receiving yards and 12 receptions from becoming the ninth player in Bears history with 300 career catches.

Alex Palczewski, a Prospect High School graduate, earned a two-year, $9.5 million extension from the Denver Broncos earlier in 2026 after making the team as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois in 2023. He played all 17 games in 2025 and has zero false starts in his NFL career.

Aidan O'Connell, a Stevenson High School graduate, returns for a fourth season with the Las Vegas Raiders as the No. 3 quarterback behind Kirk Cousins and first-round pick Fernando Mendoza. O'Connell is 7-10 as a starter in 21 career games, completing 377 of 608 passes for 3,932 yards, 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

The NFL regular season is set to begin the week of Sept. 13.
