Voters in Illinois House District 55 will choose their state representative on Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central.

The race pits Republican Joseph Johnson against Democrat Justin Cochran, according to the Cook County Clerk's election night results page. The district covers 62 precincts and has 65,172 registered voters, the clerk's site shows.

Cochran is the incumbent. A Maine Township government packet from September listed him as "State Representative Justin Cochran" among sponsors of the township's annual garage sale event.

Where to find results

Unofficial suburban Cook County results will appear on the clerk's election night page after polls close. The Illinois State Board of Elections also posts statewide vote totals.

As of the clerk's most recent update, zero of 62 precincts had reported and no ballots were yet tallied for the District 55 race.

Early voting running strong

Suburban Cook County early voting is running 30% ahead of the 2022 gubernatorial election, the Cook County Clerk's office said. With less than one week before the Nov. 3 election, suburban voters are turning out in greater numbers.

Voters who do not know their Election Day polling place can look it up through the Illinois State Board of Elections at ova.elections.il.gov/pollingplacelookup.aspx, according to Patch's Illinois voter guide.

Polls close at 7 p.m. Central on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
